O'Reilly Auto Parts Distr. Center Red Room Addition Craighead Street

TRC Construction Services, Inc. was the negotiated Design Builder for the “Red Room” addition to the Nashville Distribution Center. This building addition is used to store and distribute highly flammable and explosive products with “Low Flash Points” such as paints and lacquer thinners. The design of this addition was driven by fire and explosion codes that required a free standing 4-hr rated wall between the new addition and the existing building and a 2-hr rated wall on the west side adjacent to an existing railroad system. The building was also designed to meet “Explosion Venting” requirements in the sidewalls that were achieved with pre-engineered metal wall panels on the South and East walls with explosion release fasteners.
